Famous Descendants of Stephen Hopkins: Source:  FamousKin.com Through the diligent and laborious efforts of my grandfather (Gramps), Dr. Edwin S. Flinn, my family's lineage has been traced to one of the passengers who came over to the new world on the Mayflower in 1620 - a man named Stephen Hopkins.  Hopkins had also ventured to America, on an earlier voyage to the Jamestown colony, in 1609.  If my arithmetic is correct, my sisters and I are the 11th Great-Grandchildren of Stephen Hopkins. Actually, according to a statistic that I read somewhere, approximately 10% of the people in the United States are Mayflower descendants, they just don't know it.  So it's not surprising, really, that my family is related to some famous people.  A signer of the Declaration of Independence, a couple of former Vice Presidents, Governors, some entertainers and artists - that's pretty impressive.  But please, in the name of all that is Holy, tell me I'm not really related to Howard "YEAH!" Dean.
