Klondike is located just southeast of the Sioux falls area, off Hiway 11. It is said to be an abandoned town, although there are still a few people living where the town once stood. There is evidence of a few abandoned buildings (one of which is pictured above).

The main attraction of a ride to this area is the area near the Big Sioux River where the South Dakota, and Iowa borders meet. There is a small water fall, as well as a small trail to hike along. Bring your camera and some good hiking shoes!

Directions:

From I-229, exit onto East 26th street. Go east on 26th street until you get to Hiway 11. On Hiway 11, go south until you get to 276th Street (there is a sign that points to the right towards Harrisburg). Turn left on 276th Street, and go east... look for a road on the right, just before you get to the river. If you get to the Big Sioux River, you have gone a bit too far... turn around and look for a small road that winds into the woods. When you get to the small bridge... park! Walk across the bridge (no motor vehicle traffic permitted) and explore.

From I-29, navigate to I-229 and follow the directions above.

From I-90, get onto I-229 and follow the directions above!
