United Arab Emirates Postcard

I am still trying to locate all of my film from the Dubai trip.  For the time being, here are some post cards I picked up while there and some pictures from other sources so that you can get a sense for what Dubai is like.  The ship pulled into the port of Jebel-Ali - affectionately known as "Gerbil Alley" while on the 1994 deployment.  The photo of the aircraft carrier pulling into Jebel Ali below - that's really it.  Nothing there but sand and oil tanks.  We had to catch a bus to Dubai to see anything.  Dubai is about a 45 minute bus ride away.  It was an eerie place to be, and given the world situation, I would not want to venture out to Dubai ever again.  The biggest attraction there was the Gold Souk in Dubai.  They had all kinds of gold - very yellow 24k gold.  But enjoy the post cards, anyway.  The real photos will be posted as soon as I find them.
