Lions in Africa - Tsavo National Park

These photos were taken while on safari in Kenya.  While on deployment to the North Arabian Sea, we took a short break and headed south.  The ship pulled into port at Mombasa, Kenya in October, 1988.  The trip took us through Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Parks in Kenya.  Yes - that is a zebra carcass in the foreground of one of the pictures.  We were that close to the lions - those photos were not taken with a zoom lense.
